Modern & Chic Wedding

Kristalyn and Scott’s Memorial Day Weekend 2018 Wedding was inspired by south Florida and the waterfront views of their Washington, DC venue. Crisp ivory linens, dark green Monstera leaves, and gold accents came together to form their vision of a chic and laid-back reception-style wedding for 90 guests.

Kristalyn and Scott are both attorneys and met at a Florida Bar happy hour that Scott organized himself. They found themselves talking long after the other guests had left. Two weeks later, Kristalyn moved back to DC to begin a new career. Knowing in her gut that he was The One, she packed up her things and came straight back to Florida to continue their romance.

On May 26, 2018, they wed at The Dockmaster building at the DC Wharf. Rainy and humid weather forced an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour on the pier to move indoors and the results were stunning.

Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres and small plates of mini grilled cheese sandwiches with grilled tomato soup, beef sliders, butternut squash soup shooters, tuna tartar, brie & pepper sliders, ricotta gnocchi, garlic roasted chicken, and beef teres majorToward the end of the evening, Racing President George Washington of the Nationals made a surprise appearance and presented the groom with tickets to an upcoming baseball game.
